San Juan has a rich history of surfing
The History of Surfing in San Juan, Puerto Rico can be traced back to the early 1900s. The first recorded surfer is a man named George Freeth who was born and raised on the island of Hawaii. San Juan offers some of the best surfing spots in all of Puerto Rico like La Pared & El Condado.

Today we call this style “Puerto Rican Style” because it’s unique in design but also because it has its roots in what would become one of Puerto Rico’s most popular exports – cigars!
